2nd volume not available for recovery?

I have two volumes on my file server, "C:" which contains primarily OS files and "D:" which contains primarily user data. Both volumes appear to be selected for backup in the backup plan, yet only C: shows as available for restoring files. At the moment I'm very much more interested in the D: volume for restoring a corrupted file. Is there some special process for finding that 2nd volume that is not occurring to me?

Is it available for restore as volume? Is it backed up in sector-by-sector mode (volume properties show 0 free bytes in restore sources selection dialog)? Can you attach some screenshots illustrating the problem ?
