Acronis Backup 11.7 - Unable to restore a Dell desktop to a Lenovo M900 desktop

Thread needs solution

I have a backup image that was taken from a Dell M92p desktop and I am trying to place it on a Lenovo M900 desktop. The image goes down fine and It seems to like all the drivers I injected into it but when I boot the computer up I get no USB drivers or network drivers, so I am stuck at the ctrl alt delete screen with no way to log in. I downladed the current drivers from the website so I would have the most current ones. I also tried to use the ones we currently use in SCCM but nether one of them will work. Any help would be great.

P.S.

I have tried this on a couple different M900 desktops so I know it is not the computer.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that in my post, I have booted into safemode and I still do not have mouse or KB

Hello Paul,

These are plug-and-play drivers which we don't inject during the restoration process as this should be handled by the OS.

The issue you describe usually happens when you try to restore an older OS onto hardware that has no support for this OS. For example, trying to restore Windows XP onto newer platforms (like Intel Sky Lake chipsets) that simply don't support it.

If the OS you are attempting to restore is not supported by the hardware, there is usually very little that we can do automatically.

Could you clarify what OS you are trying to restore?
