Acronis Restore extremely slow (Dedup?)
Recently setup a backup server for backing 8 workstations.
Acronis Backup 11.5 Advanced Workstation
OS and Acronis running on 120gb SSD
Storage Node on 7x3TB HDD in Raid-6
Managed vault for workstations, backup in a GFS scheme, dedup enabled with database stored on array.
Backup server itself backs up to a unmanaged portion of the Storage Array as a simple backup.
Now backing up works great. Restoring is slow. It is unusable in this state. I have done some testing and found dedup to be the culprit.
Did three tests.
1. Dedup with database on array - Restores at less than 1mb/s (unusable)
2. Dedup with database on SSD - Restores at 10-16mb/s (acceptable but not great)
3. No Dedup - Restores at 30-50mb/s (this is ideal, still slower than I would like)
The whole purpose in these workstation backups is for when hardware fails. I need to be able to get the user back up and running in a timely manner. As my configuration stands complete system restores take 4+ hours. That's unacceptable.
Other than dedup is there something glaringly wrong or I can check as to why my restores are so slow? I am used to using Macrium Reflect where restores saturate the drive or network bandwidth and are very fast.
After my testing I am thinking of disabling dedup.

The backup server is a dedicated bare metal box and has 16GB of RAM, an i5-4670, with the Dedup database on an SSD. Meets all the criteria according to that link. Only thing I could think to add more resources would be to add a dedicated SSD to the dedup database and nothing else.
