After Update Computer will not sleep

Thread needs solution

This has been a problem for a long time. Every time, no matter what version I have run of AB&R the computer will not go back to sleep after installation of update.

Let me break this down. I have Acronis B&R 11.5 on my computer, with that I also have a program that wakes the computer up at night, backs it up and then it is supposed to go back to sleep and it doesn't after an update to this and previous versions. What I have to do is go in to Services, stop Managed Machine Services then Scheduler Service. I then start Managed Machine Services which starts Scheduler Service and it is fixed, my computer will go back to sleep at night.

I spent a lot of time in the past getting down to this information and it works for me every time.

I have no schedules running, I backup with Acronis, on my schedule, not the programs and that is the way I want it.

Is there an easier way if everything is manual to turn this off in the application or I am going to have to do this every time I install and update to the program?

Do you have to perform this workaround once after update or every time ? (every time after reboot? after going to sleep? )
You can run fully manual backup if you confugure these services as starting manually, then during scheduled wakeup you start them, wait until they are initialized, then run backup, wait till its completion (e.g. when acrocmd returns if you use it) and stop them.

I only have to perform this workaround once after an update, when I remember. What will give it away, if I forget, is waking in the morning and the computer is still running. Once I do the workaround after the update it doesn't matter if I reboot or put it to sleep it will work until the next update.

I have tried the manual route with these two services but every time I reboot I have to start the services. Between updates after I have done the workaround the manual updates that I do work great and it doesn't have a problem.

I thought that there would be a way to do this within the program so the scheduler wouldn't be started if you didn't want it to. I will continue to work with the method I am using.

Thanks for the feedback.
