Archive Protection Encryption Option Does Not "Stick"

Thread needs solution

We are creating a new backup plan in AB 11.5 (38573), and in Backup Options > Archive Protection we check the box to "Set Password for Archive" and then specify the password and select AES 256. We click OK to close the dialog, and then click Save to save the plan.

When the plan is reopened, all of the Archive Protection dialog is blank (NOT greyed out; it's totally blank as if never filled in). This happens with a new plan, which has never been run to create a backup. We can fill in the dialog again, but again the information disappears. Every time.

Does Acronis store something relating to encryption in the Windows Registry which might have become corrupted and thus is causing this?

We are about to uninstall Acronis and start fresh, but this will take the machine out of service for several hours and we really can't tolerate that.

Is it centralized or local plan? What is set as the vault? If you export the plan, is encryption value correct there (it's under 'encryption' tag in exported .xml)?
If options are set in backup plan, no values in Windows registry may affect it. If a local backup plan was run, or an existing archive is selected for the destination, then AB 'overrides' password in options with the one which user entered for the archive (to ensure that backing up continues with the same password)

OK, I see now what happened. It was a local plan, and it was referring to an existing Vault. Thanks for explaining this!
