Backing up the AMS

Thread needs solution

How do I back up the Management Server?  It's requesting a SQL license.  Perhaps I wrongfully assumed I'd be able to backup the backup system with the provided license.

Thx!

Hello Ashmite,

Thank you for your posting! What product you are using? If you are using one of the Virtual licenses like Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 for Hyper-V or Advanced 11.7 Universal License, you can protect all virtuall machines on the host+ physical host itself. You'll only need to install Agent for Windows onto physical host to enable backup. If you are using Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 for Windows Server or other non virtual edition, then 1 license is required to protect 1 machine. You won't need an Agent for SQL to protect a machine where Acronis Management Server is installed. For consistent backup of SQl databases it will be enough to enable VSS in the backup options

Thank you,
