Backup 11.5 and Surface Pro 4

Thread needs solution

Using Acronis Backup 1.5 build #43994 I created a bootable USB drive (Linux) and was able to successfully boot a Surface Pro 4 with it by holding volume down and pressing the power button. I have two problems that I am seeking comment on.

First, it does not work with the newer Microsoft Type Cover made for the Surface Pro 4 (i.e. no trackpad or keyboard response), however it does (sometimes) work with the Type Cover made for the Surface Pro 3.

Second, when I go to select the drive to backup, the Surface's SSD does not show up.

Hello Tad,

The SSD problem is caused the Surface's NVMe interface which has some compatibility issues with the current build. We have an update scheduled for release very soon (most probably tomorrow). This update should resolve the SSD issues and, most probably, the keyboard/trackpad.

Thank you.

Acronis Backup 11.7 build #44397 fixes the visibility of the drive in the Surface Pro 4, so using a USB hub with an attached USB mouse/keyboard I am able to image the device. The Surface Pro Type Cover 3 works but NOT the Surface Pro Type Cover 4.
