Backup very slow

Thread needs solution

Hello,

We've bought 8 licences to backup 8 PC . I've also bought an external hardrive disk of 2Tb for the backup.
The backup of the first PC was quick (less than one hour for 45 Gb). So i've started to save the second PC. Then the backup was a little bit slower. And now, at the 4th PC it took nearly 4 hours to do the backup !
I've done a boot cd to start backup before the operating system.

Can you please help me to solve this problem.

Hello,

We will need some details to get a better understanding of this issue.

Do you run a single backup at a time by switching the external disk to each PC one-by-one?  Or is this a network share and do all 8 PCs create backups at the same time?

How often do you run the backups? How many backups total do you have on this external drive?

Do you run full backups or incremental backups? Are the names of the archives different for each PC?

Thank you.

Hello,

Sorry for answering only today.

As you say, I run a single backup at a time by switching the external disk to each PC one-by-one.

I've only created one backup for each computer and it was full backups. The backup process took more time for each PC: For the first, It took less than 20 minutes, for the second half an hour, etc... and at least I've had to backup on another External HD and then to copy my backup to the first. The name of the principal external HD is a Western Digital Element Desktop 2To.

The backups on this HD have différents names.

Thanks for your help.

Hello again,

This sounds really strange. Each new backup might be interfering somehow with the previous one.

Do you put them all in a single folder on the external disk? If yes, does the same thing happen if you put each backup in its own folder?
