Backup of VM suddenly failing after running for 4 hour plus

Thread needs solution

Three days ago my backup of one VM started failing. The log shows it fails after 4 - 5 hours. There has been no changes other than Windows server 2012R2 updates. I updated to the latest version of Acronis 11.5 to see if this helped. It didn't as it failed again last night with the same error. There is a 492Mb Tib file created on the backup drive also a .chk file and a 2kb xml.
Below is the log of the error. Any help or suggestions are welcome.

Hello Colin,

It looks like a network issue. Could you please do the following:

  • create backup to the local destination, is it successfull?
  • backup some small VM to the network share, is the backup successfull in that case?
  • specify the network share via IP-address instead of UNC

Thank you,
