Best Practice Questions

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have a few questions I'm hoping someone would be able to answer.

We purchased the Advanced Edition with support for; Windows, Vmware, Linux, and Workstation. We have a VMware ESXI environment with about 20 servers only two of which are linux, the rest are windows.

1) I assume I install all the licenses I have on the same Windows license/management server correct? If I'm deploying agents, then they should be able to communicate with the license server.

2) Is there a recommended practice for deploying the Agents to a VMware ESXI infrastructure? I want to make sure I do it right the first time and reduce the amount of impact on the system as possible.

Thanks in advance for your assistance

Hello dgc050,

thank you for your posting!

1) You are right, it is more convenient to have all licenses in one license server. Licenses are checked on a regular basis and that is why agents need to have constant access to license server.

2) The agent for ESX(i) is delivered in two versions. Please read this article to get the better understanding which version meets your requirements and basing on it you can select an installation method.

Thank you.
