Best practices for backing up a laptop - job type/settings

Thread needs solution

So I want to create a job that will do a full then incremental until 14 incrementals have been created. It looks like I have to "schedule" a job in order to access the settings which allow this. But the laptop is not on every day and I don't want the job to start without my confirmation. Basically I'd just like to start the job every now and then. Do I just schedule it for a time I'm not likely to have the laptop on, set it to not run missed jobs, and manually start it?

Odd that a manual job doesn't allow retention settings.

Hello rhk,

thank you for your posting.

Unfortunately there is no special option in Acronis Backup scheduler for your scenario. You can either as you supposed schedule backups for a time you don't usually use your laptop or e.g. select unreal condition for backup start.

In fact scheduling options and backup schemes in Acronis True Image 2015 would be much more convenient in your case.

Thank you.
