Bootable Media Builder error

Thread needs solution

Today I've upgraded my Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.0 PC to Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5.
It's the first of 3 systems to be upgraded, but I always upgrade 1 before the others to ensure things go smoothly and work well before running into issues.

The issue I have is that when I attempt to create a bootable media, it gives an error of E00180012 - Error Code: 0x180012.

Just to clarify - the PC in question has Acronis Disk Director 11 Home as well Acronis Backup and Restore 11.5. (PC is running Windows XP SP3 x86)

I've tried selecting different agents to include in the bootable media, but no matter what I try, it errors.

I've tried including no drivers (as I have Universal Restore licensed) and I've tried including some drivers.

I'm trying to write the CD to an ISO file on a local drive only, I am not attempting to burn it to a CD.

I've searched the forums and found 2 other instances of this issue, neither post gave instructions as to what might be causing it, let alone how to solve it.

What may be relevant to anyone else - if I replace the "program files\common files\acronis\mediabuilder" files with those from BR11, I don't get the error, but building the bootable media seems considerably smaller in filesize than my previous version.

(I have 1 bootable media, it has all drivers I need in it, done on BR11 - comes to 400M, the one on BR11.5 with the BR11 bootable media files, comes to 320M)

Any ideas?

Edit: Installing BR11.5 on a PC that has never had BR installed and does not have any other Acronis products installed - I do not get the error with the mediabuilder.
Before I have to undergo removing all acronis products and reinstall them from scratch, can someone give me some idea as to what may be going on?

Edit 2: I've solved it by doing the following:
Installed Acronis BR11.5 on a fresh PC that has never had Acronis products installed.
Rebooted as required.
Copied the "Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\MediaBuilder" folder to the same PC giving it a new name.
Copied the "Program Files\Acronis\BootableComponents\WinPE" folder to the same PC giving it a new name.
Copied both folders to the target PC (to their respective areas on the disk).
Renamed the existing acronis folders to something else.
Renamed the copied folders to match the original acronis ones.
Tested the media builder.

Edit 3: The above only enables the BR11.5 agent components, if I try to add the Acronis Disk Director Home components, it causes that error.

Hope that helps someone.

Hello Arkane78,

Thank you for your message,

To begin with, let me thank you again for letting us know about the issue. I have discussed it with Acronis Development team and they're now working on the fix for it.
Currently, the fix is scheduled for next publicly available build of ABR 11.5, however, it may be postponed for one build more.

In the meantime, I would like to suggest the workaround for using bootable medias of both products, as well as all others.
By navigating to the web-page below, you will find the instructions on how to create the USB bootable media with multiple ISO images on it, and boot from any of those ISO images by selecting the needed product in the boot menu:

Please note that you always able to download the product ISO images from you Acronis account "My Products and Downloads" section.

Yours truly,
