Can't backup with less than 5% free disk space on host

Is there a way to have the software do an image even though the source has less than 5% disk space free? I have a laptop that has only 2.5gb free out of 500GB and I can't do the initial backup and I just purchased the software.

Other than some obvious advice (e.g. move the less important/frequent used data somewhere else to free the disk) you can create the 'cold' backup using bootable media, or try to create backup without using VSS ( but I'd rather try free than turn of VSS, even if there are no databases running on the computer)
