Changing the server running Acronis backup and recovery

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am running acronis backup advanced 11.7 on a windows server 2012 r2, and now for some reason i have to change the server running Acronis software. i  would like to know if there is a way that i can do that without having to lose the policies, configuration and backup plans used earlier. Can these previous configurations somehow be exported to the new server without having to do everything again from scratch?

Thank you,

Hi,

I am not sure if there is some kind of "configuration export tool", you can do it manually by moving all files/registry settings to the new location.

46745: Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7/11.5: Moving Acronis Management Server
21734: Acronis Backup 11.7/11.5 and Acronis Backup & Recovery 11: Databases and Logs

Hello akram musaad,

How many Agents\centralized backup plans or Acronis Storage Nodes are registered on your current Acronis Management Server? If the environment is not very large I'd recommend installing a new AMS instead of migrating the old one. Thus we can avoid any unpredictable and hard to detect side-effects after moving the old configuration. Then you can re-register all your Agents and centralized components (ASN, License Server) as follows:

Thank you,
