Driving Arcade Machines ("Nirin" - NAMCO)

Thread needs solution

I have 2 Driving Arcade Machines ("Nirin" - NAMCO), but One of them stopped working.

I have an idea that the problem with the hard drive ( damage data ), question: Will I be able to make an image to the operating machine and restore ( these image) the brokenness ?

Driving Arcade Machines ("Nirin" - NAMCO)- is essentially computer case, with a conventional processor , graphics , memory, and not quite ordinary hard drive,it operates under the Linux.

The problem is that Namco HD are copy-protected.

What will happen if I try to recover HD with Acronis image? Does it work?

Hello Misha,

If you are able to boot the machine with our bootable media, it should be possible to create a "sector-by-sector" image.

This type of image copies each byte of the source HDD directly without looking at its contents and you will be able to create a bit-perfect copy of the original disk.

Please note that this doesn't mean that the copy-protection mechanism will accept the new disk. For example, the mechanism could use some sort of hardware ID to identify the disk and will not accept it regardless of its contents and we don't copy things like hardware IDs.

Unfortunately, I do not know the details of this copy protection machanism NAMCO uses so I can't really fully answer your question.

Please let us know if the sector-by-sector method worked for you.
