Exclude Folder not working
Hello Acronis-Forum!
I have a problem with a Backup-Job in AB 11.7 Advanced for PC.
The job should save our Data stored on a Synology-NAS. I think almost everything works as it should but there is one problem I cannot solve.
Synology-NAS creates by default in every shared folder a Recycle-Bin. When the Backup-Agent tries to lock these files I always receive an Error-Message "file already in use".
So far, so good.
I thought i could simply exclude the Recycle-Bins from the job, problem solved. But somehow Acronis is ignoring my exclusions (or I am doing something wrong).
I defined what to exclude like this:
\\?\UNC\NAS-Name\Foldername\#recycle
The "\\?\UNC\" Part i got from Acronis itself because it's the path that shows up in the Error-Message. I already tried to set it to "\NAS-Name\Folder-Name\#recycle". Didn't work. I also tried so set it to "Windows-Driveletter\Folder-Name\#recycle". Also did not work.
Can someone explain to me where my mistake is?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Comprepair IT-Services,
Have you tried to specify the path as \\NAS-Name\Foldername\#recycle ? If the issue persists, I'd recommend to disable Network Recycle Bin for the backed up shares.

Hello Ekaterina!
Thank you very much for answering.
I tried the path you describe first, it did not work.
Your proposed solution is what I have done as I didn't get an answer here.
In the meantime I've found this KB-Article which could have been the solution I was looking for.
2849: Folder Exclusion in Acronis Backup & Recovery Does Not Work without the Closing Slash
https://kb.acronis.com/content/2849
When I look at the syntax of your networkpath it seems that you also did not know about this "speciality" in this Acronis Product. To be honest, I have never seen anything like this.
Unfortunately I don't want to spend any more time on this problem, so I am not going to reactivate the recycle bins just to see if the closing slash is the origin of the problem.
But maybe this helps somebody else.
