Failed to create a snapshot of volume C - Error 716

I have a client whose backups are completing with the warning: Failed to create a snapshot of volume C - Error 716. This has been happening for a couple months now, and I've tried the suggested procedures such as installing the Acronis error analysis tool, which pointed to there being disk errors on the server. I ran a chkdsk but this did not resolve the issue.

Please advise.
