How to recover all files of a specific file type (*.pst) from any folder of a full backup set to a certain target directory

Thread needs solution

Is it possible to recover all files of a file type to a defined recovery location.

I would recover all pst files from a full backup to a new usb disk. The existing file structure, where the pst files have been previously backed up should be recovered, because most pst files have a similar filename (i.e. Outlook.pst). So it would be reasonable to keep every file in it's original folder structure.

Appreciate any feedback!

This may help, although, as far as I've experienced, it will not alow you to automatically detect every instance of a specific file type (.pst in your case) so that you can select all of them at thes same ime and recover to the original location at the same time.

Select a destination on your computer to where you want to recover selected files/folders. You can recover data to its original location or choose a new one, if necessary. To choose a new location, click the Browsebutton.

When you choose a new location, the selected items will be recovered by default without recovering the original, absolute path. You may also wish to recover the items with their entire folder hierarchy. In this case select the Keep the original folder structure check box.

Hello Martin,

Thank you for your posting! I would recommend you to select all .pst files using the Datacatalog and restore them to USB. Please uncheck Recover without full path check box, files will be recovered with the original folder struture.

Thank you,
