Installation Client (Windows 7 Environment)

Thread needs solution

I received an email with a link to download an (approximately) 2GB file that has no file extension association. The email also states to "... open the client", however I am unsure what exactly the "client" is?

What does the link looks like (without any parts that looks like login or a serial number)? 2 GB file is most likely the installer of Acornis Backup Advanced and normally has an .exe extension.

Thank you for your reply..... I have just solved the problem and I will share the experience.....

In my welcome email for the 15day Trial, a link is provided which downloaded a 1.86GB file called "AcronisBackupAdvanced_11.5N_trial_en-US[1]". On the desktop, the file appeared as unknown file type (ie. no icon, just a white page symbol). Thinking it was a compressed file, I right-clicked it but an uncompress option was not provided on the menu.

I installed a more generallized decompression program WinRAR and then the file icon appeard as the Acronis Symbol; executing it began the setup process, which is now complete. I therefore believe it is a compressed setup file however WinRAR (however I'm sure other decompression programs will work) worked fine.

Thumbs up.
