Linux snapapi26 v 0.7.64 / 0.7.69 / kernel 2.6.32

Thread needs solution

Good day

I followed the procedure to "dkms build -m snapapi26 -v 0.7.64"

"dkms status" was happy to indicate that snapapi was integrated into the kernel
however it did not work for me, what was confirmed when I did "dkms remove -m snapapi26 -v 0.7.64 --all"
module was removed but with a note: status this module version was INACTIVE for this kernel

Could you point me to the location to download fresh version of snapapi26 ( 0.7.69 ? or later ?) to work with kernel 2.6.32-279

many thanks in advance
Vladimir

According to http://kb.acronis.com/content/35338 , kernels up to 3.6 are supported in the latest build of 11.5 (37687). You should be able to download it at least with the Agent for Linux from your account. It seems not to be available separately.

Good day

Tried to install the latest ./ABR11SL64_17440_en-EU.x86_64 on RedHat 6.3 kernel 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64 (SE Linux disabled)

Reboot fails during file system check - I had a few ext4 Logical Volumes
System boot with installed Acronis 11.17440 complaines about

[/sbin/fsck.ext4 (1) -- /usr/local] fsck.ext4 - a /dev/mapper/vg_fs1-lv_usr_local
/dev/mapper/vg_fs1-lv_usr_local - superblock cannot be read
[/sbin/fsck.ext4 (1) -- /var] fsck.ext4 - a /dev/mapper/vg_fs1-lv_var
/dev/mapper/vg_fs1-lv_var - superblock cannot be read

I guess I would need to install 11.17440 (no reboot), extract snapapi26 0.7.69, roll back and install new api with old Agent v9.7
(note 1: 9.7 agent with snapapi26 v0.7.64 works on kernel 2.6.18-238.el5.x86_64)
(note 2: 9.7 agent did not cause any trouble to ext4 rh63 logical volumes)

Also build 37687 is mentioned, I can see 17440 as the latest

Vladimir

The last build for version 11.5 (as it's posted in this forum section) is indeed 37687. For version 11 the last build is 17440. You mentioned version 9.7 . Is it True Image Echo? If you intend to use it with later snapapi, it may be incompatible with any snapapi version other than the one it was originally shipped with. As for problems with 17440 that you quoted, I can't help here, unfortinately.

We did renew subscription for Win+Linux servers this year (2 lic on acc)
11.5 is not listed for me.
Shd I get it as a "try" ?
will v11 SNs work for v11.5 ?

Existing SNs for 11.0 won't work with 11.5 .
If you have renewed the maintenance, 11.5 should be available for you, after you register the renewal in your account ( http://kb.acronis.com/content/12557 ) and upgrade your licenses ( http://kb.acronis.com/content/2907 )

It's worth to give it a try because 1) it may be fixed in 11.5 and also because technical problems with 11.0 (that are not the cases of incorrect usage) are unlikely to be investigated.
