Media Builder License Error

Thread needs solution

So after upgrading to the latest build. I am not able to create new Media.
If I try to import from the serial.txt file that I download from my account, it says no license specified.
If I specify my license server, it gives me a Acronis Universal license. When I boot a machine to test, the machine says invalid license file, restore will fail.
If I totally delete everything on the server and fresh install, I get the same errors above except when specifying the license server, I get the same error no license specified.
Even though I go into the license manager and they are all there.

On the old build I ran (update 4 I believe), the licenses would show right up in media builder.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I upgraded only media builder on the old build to the new one, and it also gave me the same no license found error.

Also like to add that the bootable iso that is downloadable from my account does not have the error upon bootup for license.

Hello,

It seems that you have "upgrade" licenses registered on your account. These licenses are sort of half a license and aren't enough by themselves to pass validation. In order for it to work, you need to use the latest "upgrade" license along with a license for a previous version (doesn't matter which one).

Have you checked this?

THANKS for the reply. I did notice that it says Acronis Backup Advanced 11.5 Universal License Upgrade in my account. We had the support contract where you click on the button when the new version comes out to get your the upgrade and that is what we did.
I am not sure how to get it to be a actual Acronis Backup Advanced 11.5 Upgrade, and not a Universal license?

Edit, how does it work ok then with build 39029, but not 43916?

Update.

I deleted all my licenses and installed a trial key but am still getting the error after pxe boot on the client the license invalid the recovery task will fail.

Hi wsgroves,

If the issue comes only while booting from PXE, please refer to the following topic.

Thank you!

Interesting thanks for the link. I wonder if its been fixed in the new build that came out a week or so ago.

Thanks.

edit
Tried version 43956 and same error.

Hi wsgrover,

At the moment the issue is being worked on and there is no available fix yet.

Hi wsgroves,

As the fix is not available yet, I will send you a direct link to the build 39029, that proved not to contain this issue.

Thank you,

Thanks I already have 39029 downloaded but wanted a newer version as that one is pretty old. I will wait on a fix.

Hello all,

The issue should have been fixed in the latest update 43994.

Thank you,

I can confirm that the issue is fixed with build 43994. I no longer have the license error. I also do not have to copy extra files for the pxe boot to work with this version. THANK YOU.
