Microsoft VSS
Today (June 3, 2015), I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with an Acronis technician. From what little I understood, my Microsoft VSS is not working properly; however, he got Acronis's VSS to work instead. I believe it still leaves warning messages; however, the backups should be good, according to the technologist.
He was going to send me an email with the steps that were done as well as a couple/few kb articles so that I could understand the VSS issue. That was about six hours ago. I still haven't received anything. The case number is 02466577.
Unless I am able to find a quick solution to my problem, I am likely going to live with the temporary fix. Windows 10 is coming out soon. When it is available and when Acronis supports it, I plan to do a complete fresh install. So I hope whatever VSS issues that might be present will then disappear.
When I quickly scanned the internet, I was left with the impression that VSS changed dramatically with Windows 8.1. Anyway, have very little knowledge of VSS.
If someone can please ask the technician who assisted me today to please send me an email with the steps performed as well as the relevant kb articles, I would be appreciative. I believe the case number is 02466577.
