Mix/Combine Disks/Volume and Folder/files backup

Thread needs solution

Hi guys,

Currently I'm doing a project for an organization. I installed Acronis Backup Advance 11.5 in windows server 2012 r2. In this server, got 2 disks which is C: and E:. In C:, I installed OS and Application while in E: got users data/info.

The question is, when I set the backup schedule, in "what to backup" section, can I choose to backup by volume for C: but I choose to backup by folder/file for E:?

If yes, what are the advantages and disadvantages on doing that?

Thank you

Hi Hafiz, Actually there is no need to specify "Files" backup type for your disk E: since it looks you still need to back up everything on it. If you back it up as disk - you still will be able to restore individual files from it.

If compare file-level and disk-level backup I would say that the disk-level is faster than the file-level.

However if imagine that on the disk E: you have mix of files and part of them you don't want to back up, in this case you can use source files exclusions to exclude folders you don't want to back up by this backup plan.
