Moving older version licensing to 11.5

Thread needs solution

We are about to renew our Acronis licenses but before we do that we need to address older version licenses. How can we convert older versions (True Image Echo and version 10) licenses to the Acronis Backup 11.5 version?

Hi GeneV,

could you please clarify your goal?

I'm afraid we don't have an option to convert old licenses to new ones, but you can use older versions as an upgrade base:

Hello GeneV,

Thak you for your posting! In order to upgrade your existing licenses, you will need Upgrade license keys. This article will help you to choose the proper edition

Here you will find Acronis Backup 11.5 Licensing FAQ:  https://kb.acronis.com/content/52430

Thank you,

Spasibo for your replies,
We have older version licenses on the machine that we removed from service.
We are paying anuual renewal for the licenses that are not in use.
We would like to convert older version licenses to version 11.5 and use them on the new machines.

Can you be more specific on the steps to Upgrade license keys?

See the attached screenshot.

Thanks,
Gene

Hi Gene,

thank you for clarification!

I see that in the meanwhile you've contacted our support team and got the problem resolved.

For the sake of other users I'd like to explain the situation. When licenses of Acronis Backup are purchased they include one year of maintenance, which allows receiving free upgrades and support assistance. After initial support period expires, the user can purchase maintenance renewal (as you did). But to be activated this maintenance renewal has to be registered under user account on our website, as it is described in this article: https://kb.acronis.com/content/12557

Your case was a little bit more complicated, because licenses were registered under different accounts, but the main point is, maintenance renewal has to be registered under account in order to provide the user with access to free upgrades.

Thank you,
