My experiment with Acronis Backup 11.7 last service pack
I was given the oportunity to test a desktop machine on which Acronis was installed.
This machine had the Samsung NVMe 256GB drive as system drive and an additional disk. The system was using last Windows 10 (1511.1586.494) and the motherboard was an MSI Z170A PC MATE.
What i did:
1. Created a backup of C drive using the installed software and it was fast and easy.
2. Created a bootable standard CD - and created a backup of C drive from bootable media.
So far everything seemed OK but...
3. I restarted the machine and went to the directory where I placed the TIB files that I created.
The backups created by the installed software (under windows) and by the bootable CD were both there and the same size.
The first one was OK and I was able to see the contents of the Backup as usual. The second seemed empty!
4. I created a Win PE CD (it was easy and automatic after the ADK install) - This time the TIB seems OK. I can open and see the contents.
My conclusions:
1. After all the patches it seems the NVMe support is still not perfect in 11.7.
2. I think 11.7 is still a bad risk if NVMe drives are present. A WinPE can be a temporary and partial substitute.
I have a question:does the new Acronis 12 support the NVMe drives ?
Best regards,
Marcel

Hello Moty,
Thank you for posting!
NVMe devices are officially detected by Acronis Linux-based bootable media starting with Acronis Backup (Advanced) 11.7 : https://kb.acronis.com/content/57521
The issue you faced seems to have another root cause.
I recommend you to recreate the bootable media (make sure to use the last build of the 11.7 version : #44421) and to perform the backup again. Let me know what was used as a destination, try to use another target drive.
If the issue persists, a further investigation will be needed.
As for a trial version of Acronis Backup 12, it available to download on this link
