Need best proceedure to replace HD in Win 7 Pro

Thread needs solution

This is my first time using this product. Your suggestions are appreciated.

I need to replace a 350GB SSD with a 1TB SSD in a Dell Optiplex pc running Win 7 Pro. the Pc only has 8 Gigs of free space so disk space is a problem. I've purchased  Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 as a download but have not installed it yet.

I have the 1TB SSD ready to install but need the safest mething of total image backup and restore so I can disconnect the 350 GB SSD, plug in the 1TB SSD and boot up into Windows as normal.

Please provide the best proceddure based on this situation.

Thanks,

Tony

I have more information on this request. i'd like to clone the 350 Gb drive into the 1TB drive but there may be a problem. The PC is a Dell Optioplex with a Dell utility partition that does not have a drive letter.

I need to incorporate the followinging processes into one Clone process:

1. Copy the Dell utility partition to the new drive and keep it as is without a drive letter.

2. Copy the Windows partition (c) and resize it to take the remainder of the drive.

I've read there are a few ways to accomplish this: Using bootable media or running a clone operation from Windows.

Which would present the least problems to complete?

Thanks,

Tony

Hello TG,

Welcome to Acronis user forums! I'd recommend you taking the full backup of all partitions under a bootable media. Thus you can avoid any OS or third-party applications related issues. After the backup is created validate it to make sure the backup is not corrupted. Then you can restore it to the new drive.  Here you'll find detailed instructions.

Thank you,
