New bootable media disk ---no mouse control except for up arrows

Thread needs solution

This is just a comment on the new bootable build. I had been running Acronis Version 11.5. Everything was working great and I have been able to restore laptop images using the bootable media until yesterday. Then, for some unknown reason, the bootable disk refused to see my usb external drive where I keep my images. After being on Tech Chat for almost 2 hours, the tech said he needed system logs. To help with this, he gave me a link to the new bootable media iso, build 11.5.4.43994. After making the CD and booting up, I found that the laptop mouse pad no longer works..you have to press F10 or CTRL M to use the up arrows to move the mouse pointer. The laptop's built-in mouse pad and associated left and right pads no longer work. After playing around with the up arrows for awhile, I was able to finally get to the RECOVER part of the program...and then the fun began...it seems you can use the up arrows to navigate to the drives fine. But since this version also failed to recognize my usb external drive, I decided to try to connect to a network resource. I used the up arrows and selected the computer from the active directory. Then it asked me for the user-name and password to connect to the network resource. Gotcha...the keyboard does not work..you can't type any words, numbers, etc. After getting frustrated, I decided to press every key on the laptop. Viola...F10 enables the keyboard but now no mouse. You can't use the keyboard and up/down/side arrow mouse at the same time. So you have to do a circus act to balance the arrow on the right selection, then press enter, then press F10 again to enable keyboard making sure you don't accidently select another computer from the Active Directory (which I did several times resulting in selecting the wrong resource so I had to press F10 to enable the mouse to cancel that computer selection and then the circle started again). WHY DID THE DEVELOPERS TAKE OUT LAPTOP KEYBOARD AND MOUSE SUPPORT ON THE BOOTABLE DISK??? Please put that option back in the bootable disk. Using up arrows to move around is archaic and extremely frustrating...Sorry about the rant but hopefully someone at Acronis will get the message...if it is not broke, don't try to fix it....THX

Hi Bob,
looks like the problem is related to lack of drivers for your hardware in kernel of the bootable media.
As a workaround you might want to use a WinPE-based bootable media as it was suggested in your support case.
And the problem will be investigated within the same support case.
Thank you,
