Question About Recovery

Thread needs solution

I've taken a tib created on one machine using a trial copy and I'm recovering it to another machine using another trial copy. It's a lengthy process as it's a bunch of data, but I have one concern.

Every file as the recovery process is taking place has a naming convention of ~.~. Is this normal? Here's an example: HGKDGLER~coversheet.wpd~

I haven't seen that before.

What trial version did you use to make the image or are you using two two trial versions of ABR11.5?

Is this a disk image, partition image or files backup?

Does the original tib file validate OK.

Are you running this in Windows or from the Recovery CD?

Does the ~filename~ stay as that on the destination drive once the restore has completed?

Does the original machine have Bitlocker or something similar running or some other archiving/tracking software utility installed?

I assume that you either recover a file backup or recover files from disk/partition backup. Similar issue was reported here - http://forum.acronis.com/forum/33235 . If you browse the backup content (i.e.select the 'files' in in recover dialog where you select the particular backup to recover from, do these files have normal name? Or if you browse the content in windows explorer?
