Questions that Need Answering

Thread needs solution

Hi All,

I am currently assigned to change over the entire backup system of a small business in my area, and they have Acronis True Image Enterprise Server 9.1 installed on their server which is running Microsoft Server 2003.

I have downloaded the trial version of the Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5 and need some things clarified about its use (as the website will only allow me to talk to people once I have already bought it).

1. I need to know first of all, if Acronis B&R will run side by side with Enterprise server for a time, to allow for the company to continue to be able to function how they do with the original setup while switching to the new one.
2. I need to know if, as I am told, Acronis B&R does incremental backups the same way as Enterprise Server 9.1.
3. I need to know if, well, Acronis B&R will even be installed on a server running Microsoft Server 2003.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Heaps,

Josh.

Not exactly. It allows technical support during the trial period, although not by phone, and pre-sales question (not by phone too) like these ones without a product purchased or being trialed.

The answers are
1 - no, they can't be installed on the same machine. 9.1 needs to be uninstalled before.
2 and 3 - yes

Yes. For about 60% of full price. Upgrade table is here - http://kb.acronis.com/content/35312
You can upgrade to "Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Advanced Server Multiplatform Upgrade"
According to http://www.acronis.com/backup-recovery/enterprise.html#purchasing --
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Advanced Server for multi-platform $1,074.74

If they have active maintenance program they can upgrade for free.

Thanks again,

One last question, is it possible to upgrade my copy of Acronis True Image enterprise server 9.1 to Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Server for Windows for small/medium businesses? The previous IT gentleman overestimated the need for enterprise grade backup solutions in the office.

Thanks,

Josh
