Reading/restoring True Image using Acronis Backup and Recovery

Thread needs solution

I have a license for Acronis backup and recovery 11.5 (advanced server) and I also have acronis True Image Premium.

I have made a backup of a laptop HDD using true image and stored it on the same computer that has the Acronis Backup and recovery installation.
Is there a way I can open/recover the true image files from within Backup and Recovery?

Hello Ahmed,

The formats are similar enough that it might work, but this is not officially tested or supported by Acronis. If you want to recover a few specific files, the simplest way would be to double-click on the True Image TIB file from the machine where the Acronis Backup 11.5 Agent is installed and then copy the required files from the Windows Explorer interface.

If you want to try a recovery from inside the product, you should select the location in the restore dialog and then click the "Refresh" button from this location so that the product can create the necessary meta-data for the archive to appear in the interface.

Again, I would like to stress that this is not an officially supported scenario, there is absolutely no guarantee that this will work and we don't test this type of restoration.
