Recently started having problems with Gmail email notifications
Starting on July 6th my email notifications stopped working. I know this because Google logs the last access made through the 2-step verification application specific passwords.
I have been using this configuration for several years without problem -- until now.
Acronis recently started (silently) failing to send notifications after daily backup jobs.
Settings are as per documentation:
* using SSL port 465
* SMTP server = smtp.gmail.com
* using an App password (because of 2-step verification)
When trying "Send test e-mail message" I get error response:
Code: 21,954,592(0x014F0020)
LineInfo: 0xDA7E497CF4160E20;
Anybody else experiencing this and/or solved it?
What I've tried:
* updating to Acronis 11.7.44421
* re-generating the App password
* unlock captcha: https://accounts.google.com/b/0/UnlockCaptcha
* TLS (port 587)
Thanks in advance.

My notifications also started failing after July 6th. I've been through all the checklists for troubleshooting, including telnetting to make sure my computer can talk to gmail's server. All the settings mentioned above are set correctly. Obviously something significant at Acronis has happened on our after July 6th. What can be done to fix this? Help, please!!! I really count on those notifications.

Much against my better judgment, I bought an upgrade to Acronis 2017 True Image when I bought a new PC rather than transferring my 2014 version over. The message notifications work on 2017 when using port 25 and TLS encryption (this doesn't work on 2014 for me). It works on Windows 10, haven't tried it on Win 7 Pro yet but am installing tonight.
It would have saved me a lot of time if Acronis had posted what happened to notifications on July 6th. It certainly looks like they disabled it somehow so we'll buy the new release. Very unlike Acronis, very bad publicity. But there has been no other answer, so what are we to think?
