Replication options go away when I choose a location

I've been able to confirm that the replication options remain available if I pick any drive directly connected to the server, and when I choose my usb-connected drive, the options disappear.

Is this working as intended, and I'm just out of luck?

There may be option to switch between 'removable drive mode' and 'fixed drive mode' on the plan creation page. In 'removable' mode replication/cleanup are not available.
