Reports only in XML?

Thread needs solution

Hi,
if I try to generate a report, ABR (11.5 incl. Update 1) only creates a xml-file. It does not open a readable report in browser.

How can I create readable reports and send them as an email scheduled?

If you click on 'View the report in default web browser' you should be able to view it. It saves the same .xml files along with .xslt files and images in a %TEMP% directory and opens the .xml file in the browser. Now it's impossible to generate scheduled reports or somehow automate it.

Hi,
I have tried a little bit and found, that it only works, if the standardprogram for opening a XML-file is a browser. For me it was PrimalXML 2012...

Thank you for the answer.

I'm unable to open a readable xml report either in a browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome):

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

<report title="Management Server 'xxxxxx.xxxxxxx.com'" subject="Backup Archives Report">

<parameters>

<parameter name="Backed up data" value="All"/>

<parameter name="Data backed up" value="All"/>

<parameter name="Number of backups" value="All"/>

<parameter name="Owner" value="All"/>

<parameter name="Vaults" value="All"/>

<parameter name="Machines" value="All"/>

</parameters>

Hello,

All of the report information is available in our reporting database.

If you want to schedule a report, you can create a SQL query script like the status script provided in our KB: https://kb.acronis.com/content/54992

The reporting database structure is described in this whitepaper: http://www.acronis.com/en-us/download/docs/abr11.5a/amsreports/

I realize that this is a lot less convinient than a scheduler option straight in the GUI and we will definitely be adding this feature in Acronis Backup Advanced 12 release.
