[RESOLVED] Backup is bigger than source!?

Thread needs solution

Hi.

I'm using ABR 11.5 Advanced and created a backup plan on that management server for all hosts of a special group.

I tested the backup plan with one win-xp host and got a serious result:

- C: is about 10GB incl. pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys; but these files will not be included in the backup according to the manual, right!?

- the size of the full backup is about 11GB! no difference if the backup file is splitted up or one file

- sector-by-sector is off; vss is off; single-pass is off; drp is off

- I made a second backup with acronis true image home 10.0 and got a backup file about 4GB!!!

- where is the difference between these versions???

(answers in german are also possible)

Thx!

Hi.

Solved!

The reason is the "system volume information" folder on c:\ !

There were 10GB of files for the great win-xp restore function.

I deactivated thís value for all drives and the backup was about 2,6GB instead of 11GB.

See you....
