[RESOLVED] Deleted Backup Job still active - how to really delete a Job?

Thread needs solution

On one of our 2008R2 Servers, a former Acronis-Backup-Job (ABR 11.5 ) has been deleted. After this deletion the Task isnt listed anymore in in the Task-View in Acronis.

But Acronis still tries to run this job everyday!
(i still receive a report eMail everyday, which simply says: "Full Backup failed"

How can i get rid of this "Ghost-Job"?
Where are those Jobs stored so i can delete them manually? (with Explorer/Registry editor)

When a new job has been created there will be a new file in "\ProgramData\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\TaskStorage"
But there are only files with a 32 digit Filename - without any readable info or file extension. In case these are the Files where a Job is stored - i dont know which of those files is the one of my "ghost-job".

Any suggstions?

 Hello Lizenzen Ebersberger,

Tthank you for posting. I am happy to assist you with this issue.

The similar problem was discussed in this forum thread where I posted the instructions on how to distinguish the backup task GUID and delete it manually. So all you have to do is:

  1. Use acrocmd list tasks --output=raw to get the GUID for the task you are looking for.
  2. Delete the task from acrocmd or manually delete the script file and the registration of the task in scheduler manager.

In case if the task is being deployed anew from Management Server although it shouldn't, do the following:

  • Delete the machine from Management Server.
  • On that machine using the Management Console go to Options - Machine Options - Management and select Stand-alone management. Confirm the selection.

After that all the deployed plans will be deleted automatically. Re-add the machine to the Management Server in order to manage it again.

If you have any additional questions, let me know.

Thank you.
