[RESOLVED] Linux 11.5 64 Bit ABS Linux install--acronis_agent does not start

Hi, All,

OS is Red Hat Linux Enterprise 6
kernel 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64
I installed ABR11.5AL64_32256_en-US.x86_64

The installation "completes" with an error indicating that the service acronis_agent cannot be started.

When I try to start manually, this happens:

[root@myhost]# service acronis_agent start
Starting Acronis Agent: [ OK ]
[root@myhost]# service acronis_agent status
Acronis Agent is stopped

I attempted to open a support ticket, but after about 30 minutes of discussion with the agent, we were disconnected. I will try again tomorrow. :-)

Following is a transcript of the file trueimage-setup.log found in /var/log after I attempted a re-install. (This is why it says the kernel module is already loaded).

Running 'rpm -U --percent --force --nopostun /tmp/RPMS.gxdmGR/BackupAndRecoveryAgent-11.5.32256-1.x86_64.rpm':
finished with exit code 0
Launching '/usr/sbin/dkms install -m snapapi26 -v 0.7.65 --no-weak-modules 2>&1'.
Module snapapi26/0.7.65 already installed on kernel 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64/x86_64

- failed to start service 'acronis_agent'.

skipping MMS registration

Acronis Customer Central is working on this problem.

Issue was ultimately resolved by uninstalling 11.5 using the uninstall script here:

/usr/lib/Acronis/BackupAndRecovery/uninstall

And then reinstalling 11.5.

Hi, Peter. Thanks. That's the correct case number. The agent was able to track me down by e-mail as well.

Do I need to take action, or is someone researching the problem?

I am facing the same issue with the following.

The acronis_mms just does not properly started.

[root@ediqas init.d]# ./acronis_mms start
Starting Acronis MMS: [ OK ]
[root@ediqas init.d]# ./acronis_mms status
Acronis MMS is stopped

Also acronis_console is not available in version 11.5
