[RESOLVED] Unable to detect NIC with Bootable Media (Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5 Advance Workstation)
Using the Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5 Advance Workstation, I have created three backup 'images' on three different machines (Asus X54C, Acer Aspire 5250, Acer Aspire 5733z) and saved them on a network folder. After creating the bootable media, I was able to connect into my local network domain (currently using Windows 2008 R2 Server) with my X54C and 5250 machines, recover the backups from the network, and re-image them. However, when I boot up the Acer 5733z, there is no ip address detected and I cannot access my backups via my local network. I realized this was a NIC issue because my other computers (X54C, 5250) share the same NIC hardware - Atheros AR8151, but my Aspire 5733z uses a Broadcom NIC. All client computers have Windows 7 Pro. After speaking with several Acronis Techs, even going through remote access, I have yet to find a solution. Alternatively, I created a WinPE bootable media, downloaded the necessary drivers for the Acer 5733z, and burned an ISO image of AIK. Yet this did not work. Acronis states that I had an outdated version (2.0) of AIK and sent me the link for 3.0 but after downloading and installing Windows Automated Installer, it still states 2.0. My last ditch attempt at trying to connect to the network on this laptop is to use Acronis Universal Restore that can backup and recover any data on dissimilar hardware. However, I cannot find a trial link to this product. Acronis Brothers, Please advise me on what I should do next!
