Restore from NAS

Thread needs solution

Hi all

I am having issues restoring a backup via Acronis Boot CD.
My enviroment looks like this:

Windows 7 Enterprise clients and AMS
1.1.1.1 is my Acronis Managements server which is connected via network to a
Vault that resides on my NAS 1.1.1.2. No issues with backups and restoring as long
as the AMS can connect to the Agent on the machine BUT...

Now when restoring from a Acronis Boot CD to computer that has a new harddrive, should I point Boot CD to the AMS or directly to the Vault on NAS?

Hello bopra,

Thank you for your question! When booted from Acronis Bootable Media, the product does not detect managed vault backups. Managed vault has encrypted architecture and Acronis Bootable Media may not detect the archive residing at the very bottom of the vault tree. If your backups reside in the centralised managed vault (managed by Acronis Storage Node), please proceed as follows:

  • Click on Recover;
  • Click on Items to Recover;
  • Click on Browse;
  • Click on Storage Nodes, in the Path field you will see bsp://
  • After bsp://, specify the IP Address and access credentials of the machine which has Acronis Storage Node installed;
  • Select the vault; The product will now be able to detect and recover all the archives.

To access an unmanaged centralized vault, type the full path to the vault's folder. After entering access credentials, you will see a list of archives located in the vault.

Thank you,
