SBS 2011 Backup Plan

Thread needs solution

I'm evaluating your 11.5 for my SBS 2011 install. I had to register for an Exchange agent trial to get the license for the agent. I hope that is the correct way because the default license doesn't register the Exchange agent.

My main issue is having to create separate jobs to backup the info store and the volumes. Am I supposed to guess the time it will take the backups to finish (I'm trying to avoid overlap)? Is there no way to create one job that backs up the volumes and then backs up the info store?

Mike,

I haven't used the Exchange agent but as a general rule tasks will be queued so that the subsequent tasks don't run until the earliest timed task has completed.

What I normally do for multi task setups is to have them start 30 minutes apart (an average incremental for my systems takes 20 mins) so when one task overruns - consolidation or new image batch the first one will over run, but the second task will wait until the late running task finishes.
