[SOLVED] Creating an Unmanaged Centralized vault

Thread needs solution

Hello,

a very simple question, we already have backups configured & working on individual cifs paths.

I would like to configure a new Centralized unamanaged vault that will include this paths to be able to access all this data in one place.

As this is a prod environment, I just wanted to be sure no change in configuration or data will occur with this operation, I read the manual and there seem to be no problems with that.

Can you confirm please?

As I understood, you have several cifs paths and several agents with plans configured to use these locations (by UNC path) as destination, and you want to create a centralized unmanaged vault - to achieve what exactly?
Unmanaged vault is essentially a shortcut to a single network folder that is deployed to agents, and can be used in a centralized plan as well as in local plan. Creating new unmanaged vault doesn't change behavior of any existing backup plans and can't be used to 'consolidate' existing backups in several existing locations.

Hello Fedor,

I essentially wanted that, a shortcut to access the network location where backups are stored, no less, no more. By confirming that a new unmanaged vault doesn't modify any of the existing setup, you've answered my question.

Thanks
