[SOLVED] Monitoring and Operational DBs: separate instances?

Thread needs solution

Hello, we are upgrading the current Acronis setup and regarding the SQL instances, I was wondering: 1. Currently we have a single instance which is acting as a Reporting+Operational SQL database but we are experiencing issues (jobs are running as scheduled but nothing is being reported). Is it recommended to separate those in two instances? Are there other considerations? 2. The Acronis Managment Server and the database server will be on two different sites. In a medium environment (100 scheduled jobs aprox.) is there heavy traffic between the two to be expected? (Storage nodes will be present on both sites). Many thanks Luka

Hello Luka,

Thank you for your posting!

1. There is no recommendation to split the instances. If something is not working, it is not related and should be investigated separately. Please create a support ticket for that.

2. By default we can expect an update to be sent every 15 seconds from every single agent being backed up. Each of these updates are then processed into multiple queries in the DB.

Thank you,
