[SOLVED] XML plans files: modify manually and import

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am planning a build upgrade for our Acronis installation, it will be a clean install. The destination vault for the backups will change from a network share to a managed vault, so I was planning to:

1. export the existing backup plans (acrocmd list plans)
2. modify the XML files to include the new backup destination
3. import the modified XMLs in the new setup (acrocmd import plan)

I thought about modifying 2 elements for every plan:
plan-locations-location-path
plan-locations-location-destination_kind

The path will specify the new path and the destination_kind should become storage_server

1. Is storage server attribute correct for a managed vault with deduplication?
2. Are there any other elements I should modify for this kind of change?
3. Comments..

many thanks
Luka

Hello Luka,

This is definitely possible to do this.

Storage_server is correct for destination_kind and the path will be something like bsp://name_of_ASN_machine/name_of_vault

You will also have to modify the plan-locations-location-credentials setting to a Windows user that has the correct permissions for your ASN server.

Okay, so to modify the storage destination path in an XML file I will need to change the path, credentials and the destination_kind definitions.

Thanks!

Hi Igor,

I am trying to understand how I can export all the backup plans thru a script or something that you don´t need to do one by one.

Thanks.

Hello Rivelino,

You can export all plans using the comand-line. Here you'll find the commands.
