System load on server - SQL.

Thread needs solution

We have SBS 2003 with 4 GB ram and a dozen workstations. We don't use SQL for any of our regular software.

System crash a week ago, restored all (that worked fine). The backups following this failed. Anyway, called support. Version 11.0 Backup / Recovery was failing on image backups so it was suggested I upgrade to 11.5. I did. We got that to work.

In my processes, with the biggest hit on memory is sqlserver at 1,700,000 (appr). If I stop that service, will it affect my Acronis? And if it does, is there a way to configure Acronis so less resources are used??

I have a pending case number in case it helps - I want to get a day or so of complete backups before I close: 0211-0825

Thanks.

If you installed Management Server to use this SQL server instance, it won't work without it. If you stop the Management Server service, all backups will run without it, but agents will accumulate notifications that can't be sent to the Management Server, and will be sent once it's back online.
