System State backup with Backup and Recovery 11.5 on sbs2008 server

We currently do a full system backup every night Mon – Fri by selecting to backup the physical hard drive (Disk 1) on our server.
Does this include the system state or would you recommend performing a system state backup as well?

If none of items included in System State (as defined in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa381498%28v=vs… ) are located on some other disk not included in the backup, then your backup includes 'system state backup'.
