Taking backups offsite on removable media
Currently we have all our servers backing up to centralised vaults on a dedicated backup server (Acronis Storage Node, Management Console & License Server). We want take our backups offsite (swapped weekly) on an external USB HDD. I have tried using the extenal HDD as a centralised storage vault and replicated to it but had mixed results (since read that Acronis don't support this). My other thought is to robocopy the vaults to the external HDDs that are swapped each week but am unsure if I could recover from these backups as the metadata might be mixed up???
How do other people achieve offsite backups on external HDDs with Acronis?
Acronis support/development, when are you including this feature in your software?

Try this: connect your external HDD, place centralized storage on it, robocopy some data to, unmount and mount that storage. Try to restore somthing from re-mounted storage.
We use tape drives for offsite.

Hello,
You will be able to use the robocopied vaults for recovery as long as the archives on this disk contain valid backup chains (F-I-I-I with no missing pieces).
We are working on better support for swappable centralized USB storage in the next version of our product.
