Tape Library not showing what is full

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I am new to Acronis Backup and I inherited a system from my coworker who got let go. I do not know how this system is setup, and I am unfamiliar with Acronis, only having used Arcserve in the past. I am looking over the tape library in Acronis Backup, but I am not seeing what tapes are full. I see a whole lot of offline tapes. Is there a way to determine what is on each tape and whether it is full easily? I would need to determine what is monthly or weekly backups as well. I do not think anything was labeled.

Hello Dennis,

Welcome to Acronis user forums! First of all you'll need to run full inventory of tapes in question (inventory is always first thing to do when you import new tapes). All empty tapes will sent to the pool Free tapes. In order to see existing backups in the GUI you need to rescan tapes. The tape will be moved to the pool associated with the vault you have selected during the rescanning, and the backups stored on the tape will appear in the vault.

Here you can find detailed information on tapes management in Acronis Backup.

Thank you,
