Trouble installing AcronisAgentWindows.msi on Windows XP PC
I've tried just about everything I know to do. I've tried installing the msi file directly one the PC, remotely from the server, uninstalled using Add / Remove programs, using Acronis Cleaner Tool to uninstall. I don't know what more to do. The error I'm getting on the server doing a remote install is listed below. The error I get when I try to install locally basically tells me that the install was interrupted and to restart the install. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Oh, the Agent Core installs fine, it is just the Agent for Windows that fails.

Hi Neil,
Issues with the remote installation are often caused by some missing preparation steps. Please check all prerequisites and re-attempt the remote installation. I would also suggest temporary disabling Firewall and testing the required ports with the telnet command. Ports should be open on the both machines. You may also try to install the update locally by copying the installation file to the target machine.

I tried all of that already. I tried both a remote and local install. Like I said, I reverted back to the previous version and it installed fine, with no error.

Hello Neil,
If a local installation failed we can ignore the remote error messages because the root cause is the actual installation failure.
In order to troubleshoot this correctly, we will need to look at the actual error during installation in the MSI logs from your local installation attempt. These can be found in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\InstallationLogs

Could you please provide the installation log for the failed attempt?
The log should be created automatically in %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Acronis\InstallationLogs on the agent machine you are trying to update.
