Hi,

The problem is that appliance after it was deployed from .ovf and powered on was unable to connect to the ESXi host/vCenter over network (see "Failed to connect to the ESX(i) server 'https://172.16.8.10/sdk'." error). This typically means that the appliance was connected to wrong vSwitch/port group in vSphere or there were incorrect OR the IP settings which you specified in the deployment wizard are invalid. For troubleshooting you should deploy appliance manually from .ovf template which is present in the installation folder on the machine where you had Acronis Backup installed. After deployment you can check the network settings to make sure they are correct one (at least ping should work).

Thank you.

Hi Vasily,

I have also tried to deploy the agent on ESXi , however it failed to set a network interface automatically.

any idea to fix the problem ?

Hi,

You should deploy the appliance from an .ovf template which is placed in \Program Files\Acronis\ESXAppliance\ folder on the machine where you have Acronis Management Server installed (you need to install Acronis Backup Agent for VMware (Virtual Appliance) to get this .ovf extracted). This is the same .ovf which is being deployed from Acronis Management Server when you configure vCenter integration and appliances deployment.

So the troubleshooting steps would be:

1) Deploy the .ovf manually from vSphere client

2) After appliance boots up, check its network settings from vSphere console (see attached screen shot). Adjust settings if needed.

Once the network settings are correct and appliance is configured, you will be able to add it to Acronis Management Server: go to All machines->Physical Machines->Add machine->specify the IP of the appliance and provide credentials for the vCenter/ESXi host which is configured on the appliance.

If there are problems with the troubleshooting please contact our support team for further assistance.

Thank you.
