Why isn't acronis deleting old backups?

I'm constantly having to delete old backups as every other day I'm coming into the office and acronis is stuck on 'task requires interaction' disk is full.

retention rules don't seem to work (probably because I have a different USB disk for each day of the week) so I have set it to delete old backups when there is insufficient space remaining, but it's clearly not working.

what am I doing wrong? I'm using the latest build of 11.5

Hello admin2929,
you are doing wrong exactly what you said: you use a different USB disk every day. When saving a backup to a location, ABR writes metadata to this location. By swapping HDDs you make this metadata not available. Retention rules work on an archive, i.e. on the backups created by the same backup plan and stored in the same location.
Here are examples of how backup to USB may be set up: http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11.5/index.html#10619.h… They do not solve your exact case but may give a hint.

I'am using only one USB-Disk but i have the same Problem since i have updated to the new build 11.5.37608 (German)!
I have this build installed on 3 Servers and on all Servers the same problem.

My settings
Backup: Alle Tage
Wöchentlich/monatlich: Freitag
Backups aufbewahren:
Taglich: 5 Tage
Wöchentlich: 7 Wochen
Monatlich: Unbegrenzt

Since the Update 10.04.2013 Acronis d'ont delete the daily backups. So i have a daily Backup until today.

Please help
