Acronis Backup 15 incremental fails but full backup succeeds on synology nas

Thread needs solution

Hi there, we have x2 nightly incremental backups going to x2 different synology NAS'es.

The incremental backup on the first synology NAS succeed while on the second one it failed even if done manually.

a FULL BACKUP tho succeeds on the second NAS that failed, only incrementals wont go through.

I suspect a corrupted incremental backup what are your thoughts ?

I enclose the logs

Thanks

Hello Konstantinos. Welcome to the forum!

That error code refers to errors in the disk, corrupt backups or an extremely fragmented disk.

Please run a CHKDSK on the disks and check the respective integrity: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows…

Also check the panel of the NAS and check the status of the disks.

You could also try the following:

  1.  In Backup Options -> Splitting enable fixed size split backup and set slice size between 100GB and 500GB, and create a new backup archive.

(!) Splitting option is not available for Always incremental backup scheme.

In case you are specially preparing storage with NTFS file system for storing large backups, for better handling of large files it is recommended to set a 64 KB NTFS allocation unit size and enable support for large file record segments (FRS) on the partition.

Alternatively you can start a backup from the scratch on the location where it's failing.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!
